At approximately 19:00 hours crews were alerted for a traffic accident with pin-in at the 81000 block of North I-85. Engine 643 arrived on scene of a single vehicle accident with significant damage on the driver side. Engine 643 confirmed that it would be an entrapment, and Chief 640 established command. Crews begin stabilizing the vehicle and placed a protection line on the ground. Once the protection line was manned the crews begin to extricate. Rescue crews gained access to the patient, and the patient was free. Rowan County EMS took over patient care. Crews remained on scene for approximately 30 minutes, and then the scene was turned over to NCSHP.
