On Friday, March 7, 2008 Salisbury Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at Salisbury Millwork.  On this day Justin Monroe and Victor Isler  sadly lost their lives doing what they loved. Justin loved firefighting with a passion.  Justin was a great person who always brought a smile to everyone around him.   If you knew Justin personally you could not help but to love him.  Justin will trully be missed but he will never be forgotten.  We ask everyone to please keep Justin's family in your thoughts and prayers.
The members of Millers Ferry Fire Department will miss the great personality and smile always.  In efforts to help us and his friends and family cope with this early calling of a great young man, we will continually honor Justin with memorials and events named in honor of Justin.  The annual chicken & dumpling dinner will always be in honor of Justin for his devoted efforts to make sure everything went smooth for our dinner in March 2008.  With great sorrow in our hearts we were forced to postpone until May 2008.  We will make every effort to hold The Justin Monroe Chicken & Dumpling Sale in March of every year, so when you visit us for these events please make a point to view the memorial sign (to be finished by 3/7/2009), and Justin's retired locker and gear within in our department.
