At approximately 01:30 hours crews were dispatched to a reported head on collision at the 81000 Block of N I 85. During dispatch it was reported that one patient was confirmed pinned. Rescue 64 arrived on the scene of a 2 vehicle accident with one vehicle on it's side. Once confirmed that we had one patient pinned crews begin to establish a hot zone and begin taking patient care. Command requested Salisbury Rescue 1 to assist due to the number of patients. Rescue 64 and Rescue 1 personnel took stabilization and rescue. Engine 343 pulled a protection line while extrication was in progress. Churchland Engine 131 and Rowan Rescue assisted with patient care. Multiple Rowan and Davidson EMS units responded to the the scene. Patient was free from the vehicle in about 15 minutes. Command requested Baptist Air Care to the scene, but due to response time the patient was transported by ground. All units cleared the scene at approximately 04:30.
